House of The Locust Beginner Guide
Verified starting information for your first run in The Locust's nest: how objectives work, which items matter, and how to stay alive.
How a run works: you wake inside the nest, explore, collect objective items, and advance escape steps until you can reach the exit.
Priorities for new players: learn room connections first, then item spots, then chase routes. Do not sprint through unknown hallways.
The game is pre-alpha (server size 50). Routes that worked last week may change — always re-check the current objective in your run.
First-run checklist
- Check the current objective before moving deep into the house.
- Sweep drawers, shelves, and side rooms for key items early.
- Memorize two exits from every main room you enter.
- Listen for The Locust before crossing long, open hallways.
- When the exit opens, walk — do not sprint blind.
